Rabbinical courts to stop automatically placing financial burden on divorced fathers.02:39 02.12.15 | 0 comments
There is a very striking difference in the responses to Levy's perceptive and badly-needed essay: those who are supportive of it tend to write thoughtful, nuanced responses; those opposed to it almost invariably include ad hominem attacks in the most shrill and derisive tone, and often write in a feverish, disjointed way. It is an amazing difference. My fear, however, is that, among both Israelis and Palestinians, the majorities have moved to extremist positions, and the moderates (upon whom all hope for compromise, and therefore all hope for peace, depend) are a diminishing minority on each side. It speaks volumes that both Sadat and Rabin were killed, and both by groups of their own people.
