You said: "If Iran responds to a US-Israeli attack by training its Shahab-4 long-range missiles on the Haifa and Ashdod oil refineries the effects would be catastrophic in every imaginable way for Israel - from the crippling of the Israeli economy to the loss of civilian life.Posters to Talkback should be careful what they wish for." First off, whatever death and destruction Iran inflicts on Israel will be paid back to Iran tenfold. The Iranians know that. Regarding your point about posters being careful what they ask for, first of all it's quite presumptuous of you to paint all posters with one brush, accusing them all of wanting an attack on Iran. But I for one am with you on this. I'd much rather see a full-scale economic and political boycott slapped on Iran than a military strike. Such an attack won't solve the problem or stop Iran's nuclear program. Only deaths on both sides would result.

How I learned to fall in love with sanctions

Sanctions did not devastate South Africa or Iran. Nor will they destroy Israel; above all it will extricate Israel from a trap it is unable to get out of by itself.
