"Israel`s Uncle Tom gets uppity" "The Palestinian delegation to Monday`s meeting between Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas said during the meeting that from now on Abbas would only deal with final status issues." Clickfool, how do you reconcile your opinion of Abbas as an Uncle Tom with what you say in this paragraph? Israel would rather NOT discuss final status issues, yet by delegating "day-to-day discussions" to his Prime Minster Fayyad,Abbas is forcing the final status issues into the Olmert meetings. Did it ever occur to you that Abbas wants something better for his people? He could easily have a cushy job in the west, safely out of the danger zone-He CHOOSES to stay in Palestine, at great personal risk, because he wants to fight for a State for Palestine. His courage comes from the fact he does not equate "negotiations" with "treason",unlike Hamas, which thinks anything but war and death is "betrayal".Hamas offer only death&destruction

from the article: Abbas says he will only talk to Olmert about final status issues

Israel must accept a U.S.-Iran entente or risk isolation

If Israel shows greater flexibility, it can still influence the post-nuclear deal agenda ; If Israel digs in its heels, it will increasingly become a liability rather than a strategic asset to the U.S.
