There is a thriving community of Iranian Jews who also have political representation. If Iran was an inherrently anti-semitic country - do we not think that they may have started with the expulsion, murder or repression of those guys? Yet they have not, and their anti-Israeli language is actually anti-zionist. Iran is pretty experienced at black ops and have been running successfully deniable operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. Do we really believe that it is beyond Iran's capabiliy to do some assasinations of their own, within Israel, should they choose to? Yet they have not - despite massive provocation. Iran belongs to the IAEA and is a signatory to the NPT. That enables the IAEA to refer Iran to the UN Security Council, and seemingly enables the IAEA to publish lists of Iranian scientists where past experience shows that Israel will try to kill them. If Iran has an intention to develop nuclear weapons, it is in heir interests to leave the IAEA and NPT, which removes the legitimacy of IAEA scrutiny and, in all liklihood, protects Iranian scientists. Yet Iran has not left. The colcusion? The only sane, logical conclusion is that Iran is not fundementally anti-semitic, but has a problem with Israel (like many people), Iran shows retraint in the face of provocation and does not yet have a reason to be concerned about its membership of the IAEA and NPT, so in all liklihood, does not have an active nuclear weapons development programme.
