First of all, I am in no way excusing what happened here, only providing some clarifications because it's clear that this is a secondhand report and I actually live in Cluj. 1) It's called TVR3, similar to BBC3, a state-run television channel. "Verde" means green and that's just the euphemism for TVR3 because their logo is green (TVR1 is blue, TVR2 is red, etc) 2) Cluj isn't an "eastern" county, it's in northwest Romania in Transylvania 3) The national regulatory agency (CNA - similar to FCC in America) is already holding a hearing on this. 4) TVR is undergoing some massive internal problems, with the head director resigning just days ago (unrelated to the antisemitic carol scandal). TVR3 was previously dismantled due to budgetary cuts and only recently brought back so there are big problems with management. Also the president of the country (Basescu) has been battling a "baron" named Voiculescu (who himself controls a different TV network) over TVR and it's probable that including this antisemitic carol was a deliberate ploy to embarrass the president. 5) The director of the "Centet for Preservation and Promotion of Traditional Culture" in Cluj was not named in your article but he is Tiberiu Groza. His contact information can be found here for anyone wishing to contact him about this incident: http://www.cjcluj.ro/centrul-creatiei-populare-contact/
