I'm not necessarily doubting your word - just pointing out that, for a time in the US, a group got huge publicity by raising a hue and cry about infant vaccinations raising the risk of autism. Studies have since definitively debunked that as a complete myth, but parents are still sometimes uneasy about vaccinating their kids, leaving them vulnerable to all sorts of ailments which can pose a much greater threat to public health than SIDS.
