I'd wished that the debate on circumcision would enhance a fruitful discussion within the Jewish communities proper. We need a kind of modern reform in our religion. it must be accepted by modern enlightened Jews that circumcision is not a question of life or death, and that we remain Jews even if we don't punish by stoning and not circumcising male babies; that it causes pain and trauma to the newborn male, and that it reduces sexual pleasure because million of neurons are damaged and sensibility is reduced in this very anatomical region. modern Western constitutions prohibit causing torturing pain and irriversable damage to an individual without getting his consent. And these are important and good universal laws at least in the Western Hemisphere. Is this so difficult to comprehend, folks?
