For Ms Kohn and Jeff Northridge and others, the only way Hamas in Gaza can be dealt with is by a military campaign. As happened in Jenin, many civilian casualities would result, not thaat this of concernn to eitheer of them. Thery feel apparently that this would cut off the head of the hyrda and bring peace and calm to the border communities that are suffering under the barrage of these rockets. My questiion is, why did not Israel accept the hudna that was offered by Hamas sometime ago? Was it peace, recognition? No, but it would have stopped the rockets. Israel rejected it. And as for its air campaignss and invasions, when have they worked in achieving the intended result? In Lebanon? In Palestine? In Gaza? All they have done is create more violennce and revenge attacks. It has not brought one iota of peace or security to Israel or its citizens. Nor will this impending attack which will do nothing but what it is intended to do,punish civilians with as much pain and death as possible.

A milestone birthday is as good an opportunity as any for a midlife crisis about the Middle East crises.
