Amen! I couldn't have said it better. I wonder sometimes at Esther of which I had a good opinion. Re another matter - I heard Aldo Ciccolini play in 2004, i.e. at the age of 79. Sure he isn't the Adonis you loved anymore, but the play (Pictures at an Exhibition) of Mussorgsky was extraordinary! It's a very difficult piece and the old man's flying hands and fingers were an unforgetable spectacle.
