As a very ancient people with alot of time on our hands to contemplate everything here under the sun, with the formal intellectual tradition dating back over 1500 years(Mishnah Gemara=Talmud)based upon exhaustive analysis of every thing, the Jewish people has become a very opinionated people Chris. It is aproblem sometimes its true even Jews will acknowledge that every Jew knows the answer to ALL the worlds issues all the time, it is also a sign that you will be free to speak your mind if you do become a Jew. You raised an interesting point about why we are loyal to our home countries, despite what happened, well that be an example for other immigrants who move to western countries with the wrong intentions and bad attitudes. It is anorm in Jewsih Law that Jews be good citizens of the countries we will live, it is anorm in Jewsih culture. If you are looking for sureties, uniformity and simplicity(not meant as a reproach to those virtues) Judaism and the Jewsih people might be the best choice for you, it is a very feeewheeling kind of thing but if you find a Jewish community that suits you whether reform conservative reconstructionist liberal orthodox right left etc you will meet interesting and very warm people eager to get to know you and involve you in there activities. I wouls suggest you look deeper into what the Jewsih community of London has to offer you will suprised at how much such a small people has to offer. Hope that helps Regards danite
