With the Chinese annex of the main Iranian oil fields untill 2024 and their threat to use military force against any attacker, this has thrown a new paridigm to the mideast region that harkens restraint. China traditionaly supported Iraq during the first Persian Gulf war in the early 1980's and sold them billions of dollar's worth weapons to use against Iran including tons of chemical warfare agent (along with Russia and France) that wa smoved to Iraq and Lebanon by a joint SPETZNAZ/GRU unit shortly before the invasion of Iraq in 2003. The Iranian people have not been given this information by their own government because of their closed nature and the potential for internal conflict is so immense as to cause concerntation throught the entire region. China, Russia and Iran have suffered stunning setbacks in Africa in the last administration (Somalia, Libya and Senegal ) and can only look forward to another four years of loss of influence.
