Thought I'd bring up that unpleasant subject, where Russia won its war over an subject islamic people by total brutal repression, which is likely to continue indefinitely. China learned the lesson well, by recent reports of their brutal repression of islamic groups in the western chinese region. Obviously both deserve the affection of all, unlike the US, whose only hope for "victory" in Iraq would be a stable unified democracy under the new constitution defining Iraq as an islamic nation. Whether this horrible US "victory" is possible or not remains to be seen (the idea of a stable democracy in an islamic arab nation may be hopeless dream), but a US "defeat" in Iraq is going to be much more painful for the Iraqi people than it will be for the American people.
