Netanyahu's indirectly sending a message to Salim Joubran has to be considered as an act of a politician. Being the leader of the conservative political party, Likud, he simply tries to avoid critics from his own party-members and Likud Knesseth-members. He tries also to gain votes of the less conservative centrum, maybe also from the Arab-muslim voters in Israel. Of course he's not showing too much courage by the way he did it, but I repeat: he is a politician! But let us suppose that the anthem is changed. Will the Salim Joubrans sing the new anthem of find another reason not to do it: Israel's - a democatic republic - foundation is based on Herzl's ideas. For many Arabs, Muslims,.... zionism, ..... is not acceptable. We'll see, hope and pray for the best!
