Don't hold your breath on their next film. The Yiddish Policeman's Union suffers a similar authorial malady. The author creates entirely implausible scenarios while having the reader believe that -- despite its outlandishness -- the reader, or audience, should trust that they're in on some joke or inspired creativity when in reality the author/filmmaker really has nothing insightful to say about this particular subculture whatsoever.
