As Chassidim, we were taught that, just as in the case of stories about the Baal Shem Tov, whoever believes every story told about the Rebbe ZYA is a fool, but whoever believes none of them is an unbeliever (and denies reality). Indeed, none of this is news, and the reason Friedman does not publish it is simply that there is very little new or authentic in his expose. Another wannabe chronicler got nowhere with his prior work, which contained a similar mixture of facts known by many (but not all) Chassidim (in some cases admittedly supplanted by legend, but see above), wild conjecture, and plain uninteresting nitpicking details. This is just about plain jealousy. Friedman and others believed Chabad would die within months of when the Rebbe ZYA left this world, but BH we are getting stronger every day as people seek authentic, but not force-fed, Torah Judaism.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Berlin, February 16, 2016.

If Merkel also criticizes Israel, life is not a piece of cremeschnitte

The Israeli reaction to Der Spiegel's report on the German chancellor's frustration with Netanyahu was ridiculous, even Orwellian; as if Israelis were aliens who had just landed from another planet.

Boycott is the only way to stop the Israeli occupation

Aluf Benn's proposal for Israel's left to establish a base of domestic support for its positions is hopeless considering the brainwashing and increasing extremism of our society.
