I used to think that people who whined that Haaretz wouldn't publish their responses were imagining things - after all, Haaretz routinely publishes incredibly inciteful and libelous comments. Now I'm beginning to believe Haaretz does censor statements with which the editors disagree. My last two submitted comments which, while clearly related to the topic under discussion, contained valid criticism of Olmert (and, by implication, the Leftist media that supports him) were rejected by Haaretz. I guess I should feel honored that Haaretz finds my opinions so threatening. Still, I'd prefer to be able to voice my opinions, namely: that Olmert's election was the result of corrupt manipulation of medical information that defined Sharon's incompetence as temporary, followed by empty promises by Kadima which were supported by the Left; that Olmert's convergence plan caused the war and should be abandoned; and that Olmert should resign. With censorship like this, who needs Haaretz?
