sadly it is more the death of the kibbutz that is prevalent today. Privatization, mine, mine, mine, fences and capitalism. I am a volunteer who joined a kibbutz 14 years ago and today do not really find anything to celebrate about. We have a group of people that were living under a socialist system for all their lives suddenly becoming experts on capitalism. It has really been a change from one extreme to another. Hopefully in the coming years there will be a little more balance in what was a wonderful experiment of a society caring for each becoming a dog eat dog society where those that have the 'connections' receive and others are left to go hungry.
