I agree Israel should launch a war now under the guise of a humanitarian one because nobody is doing anything to stop Assad's killing. Make some nice speeches, destroy all the tactical military targets use the ground forces to defend the Israel border only rather than looking for territorial gains and behind the scenes hold secret talks with the US & UN to step in once and demand a ceasefire. We have though destroyed the military sites in the process of helping the Syrians. With his military smashed Assad will have a harder time holding onto power anyway so with Israel's help through a war which will neutralize any threat to Israel from Syria for many years to come it will also give the opposition the edge they have needed. Some of them may even be grateful for Israelis ' humanitarian war ' Everybody is a winner except Assad. Its best to destroy the Syrian military machine anyway because we don't know if any successor to Assad is going to want to go to war with Israel at some point in future if we destroy a large part of the military between the politics of forming a new government and the huge costs to rebuild the country there won't be any money to spend on the military. Israel needs a short war with Syria now while the world hates Assad and wants him out and should launch it before the political situation changes and Israel has to just accept the new reality even if its one id doesn't like, at least this way we have a role in determining the future of the region.
