I am Jewish, a Jew who converted from Catholicism many years ago. I lived in Israel for over 12 yrs. There is no city in the world that can compare to the energy and beuaty of Jerusalem, when the city is at its best. I love my tradition and have deep respect and regard for the best in the Catholic tradition. My background gives me a vantage point when either the Catholics or the Jews become too full of themselves and start judging others more harshly than they are willing to judge themselves. It is interesting that for Christianity to thrive, Christendom had to die. For Jews being outside the statge of political power for 2000 yrs. we have returned and find we are making a mess of it as did others. Islam is still deciding how it can thrive as a minority in a pluralistic society in which the majoirty of not Muslims.
