Cardinal Lustiger was hors cat?gorie and castigated by many for that. It saddens me to see that a man as wise and open as Rabbi Sirat couldn't find it in his heart to accept Lustiger for what he was, deeply religious in both the Jewish and the Christian sense. It's hard to understand, but not everything in life is pret ? porter and Lustiger was invaluable as a unique bridge between two religious groups with deep differences.
