cast lead did not fully achieve its objectives, but it led to the relative calm that you mention in your report. The paradox here is that "peace negotiations" do not lead to peace. Quite the opposite. Since The Oslo accords, terror attacks have grown exponentially. Each pahse of peace talks, Oslo, Camp David, Taba, and Sharon's Gaza withdrawal (unilateral) have led to an increase in the conflict. It is also self deceiving to discuss "war" as a possible choice. The war is ongoing. If Israel does not defend itself, it will lose the war, and its statehood.
