I am moved and surprised by the person of Cardinal Lustiger. I did not know that the Catholic Church could tolerate such a priest, and then to elevate him to be a Cardinal... However, if we consider his jewishness not as a religious identity but of ethnic origin alone, then it can be understood. However, there is another term for that idendity, it is Israleli. An Israeli Catholic is not a controversial term.(compared to the terms Jewish Cardinal or Jewish Catholic) On the other hand, we have the "Jews for Jesus" movement...I wonder what the Cardinal would have thought of them.
