The Syrian army is rapidly closing in on the rebels who are in control of the city, leaving a narrow corridor through which civilians are escaping on foot; Russian and Iranian support are tipping the balance in Assad's favor.01:04 06.02.16 | 1 comments
PA President Abbas and Fatah recognize Israel and seek a peace agreement with the Israeli Government based on two-states alongside one another. Apparently, the last sincere peace talks with the Olmert led coalition were only months short of an agreement. However, the principles behind a hudna (long-term cease-fire) would not be consistent with the principles behind a permanent peace agreement between representatives of the PA and the Israeli Government. This is a dilemma that the element of trust between the people be evident as all economic, cultural and social enhancements for both people depend on this type of peace agreement. And this is what the nations of the U.N. desire as well, an element of permanency for the Middle East region.
