"The House Democratic leadership last night acceded to pressure from conservative Democrats and Members of Congress close to the Israel lobby and agreed to drop a provision from the supplemental appropriation that would have barred a U.S. attack on Iran without Congressional authorization." - The Huffington Report (March 2007) More recently, some 76 Senators voted in favor of a declaration that Iran's Revolutionary Guard is a terror organization. Such a majority, in such dangerous times with such a dangerous President do not happen on their own. Somebody is pulling strings here. We see now that Bush is playing the same tune, putting the need to attack Iran (when the "need"/opportunity arises) on Israel's shoulders. Bush is not doing Israel any favor. Israel can get along with Iran once there is peace with the Arabs (which is now possible) and once Israel acquires a second strike capability. I hope the Bush talk is just a means to pressure Iran, but he is stupid enough to be serious.
