Jaffa and Haifa had already fallen before "the war" you are referring to had even started. The correct statement is that after 14th May 1948 the surrounding Arab states joined the civil war by opening a war between the Arab League and the State of Israel. "Egypt attacked Israel in 1967" - astonishingly ignorant. Egypt may or may not have given Israel a casus belli, but it is indisputable that Israel attacked Egypt. Not just my opinion, either. Menachem Begin said: "The Egyptian army concentrations in the Sinai approaches do not prove that Nasser was really about to attack us. We must be honest with ourselves. We decided to attack him."
