A well-thought out and written article. Thank you. Yes. Moving the guards back to the watch towers did not mean that Gaza was less a prison/ghetto - less occupaied. And moving them back into the "yard" will not change anything. What will Israel do now? Now the Gazan infrastructure is even more destroyed? Their citizens less able to be independent? Their fear and anger greater? How does this move us closer to a 2-state solution? Does Israel really want to occupy forever and be responsible forever? Does Israel really want a one-state solution? I do not see how resorting to the "military solution" has helped Israel one single bit.
