Most Israelis agree that occupation is bad and not many like the settlers in hilltops. However, few Israelis share the existential anguish that you express. As long as "the occupation" does not burst into their daily lives and the USA allows the Israeli government to get away with it, the public opposition to this disastrous policy will remain testimonial. Most Israelis keep thinking of it as a nuisance to be dealt with by "conflict management". However, the apparent calm in infinitely delaying solving an unresolved basic problem will not (cannot) last forever. Unless extremists from either side launch a nasty provocation, the ball is in the hands of the Obama administration, since neither the Isra-left, nor the Pals nor the Europeans can change things. What can we do if in 2040 Israel/Palestine becomes irreversible a bi-national entity because the average Israeli did too little to prevent it? Nothing. But Israelis will have to adapt. As much as we dislike it, this may happen.
