I believe culture boycotts both ways can be appropriate. I support the action of Martha Graham and other dancers who declined to attend the 1936 Olympics and the two-way cultural boycott that was applied to apartheid S. Africa. Whereas for S.Africa the sports boycott was far more significant, for a culture hungry nation like Israel, this cultural boycotts could be more effective. My own views have hardened over the past weeks as we learn of the appalling actions planned by the IDF and the Civil Authority in the South Hebron Hills. Maya expect more rather than less two-way cultural boycotts for Israel over the coming months and years.
