The author like many others would argue that Isreal in it's treatment of the Palestinians and in it,s 60year occupation is being singled out unfairly given no such boycott is proposed for its autocratic and arguably more barbaric, non democratic neighbours. HOwever he ignores the fact that Isreali behaviour has been shielded from more serious consequences by the actions of the US which has provided it with both military superiority and immunity from international sanctions , something none of its neighbours would have enjoyed had they engaged in an illegal occupation and settlement policy. The author also speaks of the persecution suffered by Jews in Europe as if this in any way justifies the treatment of the Palestinians! paranoia may explain certain behaviours but in no way justifies it.
