If you do not recognize that name, I don't blame you. Bowe Bergdahl is an American POW that has been held by the Taliban in Afghanistan for years now. He is not an honorary member of any US city. The Red Cross has never visited him. There is no "Bowe Bergdahl Day" in Los Angeles. Most people do not even know he exists. So here's my question: why? I am talking to all Americans here. Why do we know SO MUCH about this boy, Gilad Shalit, a member of a foreign military--but nothing about a member of our OWN military? Have we really gotten to the point where one Israeli life is not only worth a thousand Arab ones, but also outweighs that of an American soldier? I'm not saying that this kid's situation isn't terrible, but where are the "FREE BERGDAHL" marches? Since he isn't Jewish, it doesn't count...?
