Bob, I reccomend that you spend some time in Lithuanian style Yeshiva. You will discover that it is not as static, nor as regressive. You may have problems with the way it is taught, or the nomenclature, or the approach. Yes, the approach, it is Revealed Law, like Solon, who received his codes . . . There is a way of changing the mode of practice, but you have to know how to do it. The trouble with the CJ tend to ask "Rabbi Jeremiah's questions". As valid as they are, are the essence of the process, are set aside in favor of Reality checks filtered through a logic that is splits hairs until they reach the most reasonable solution, leaving no arguement unturned until that happens. When have you seen the Law Courts anywhere else in the world do that?
