Refugee status cannot be inherited, no example of inherited refugee status anywhere in the world. Only with palestinians do people have this idea that they are all refugees with a right of return. Its been nearly 66 years since the war of independence which left around 600,000 arabs as refugees. Today there are over 5 million claiming to be refugees with a right of return. If you cannot inherit refugee status then how is it that in 1948 you have 600,000 refugees but in 2014 there are over 5 million? What legal grounds is there to grant a ROR to the original refugees or their descendants? UN Resolution 194 was only a General Assembly resolution which is little more than a glorified request which Israel is free to accept or reject. Israel quite legally chose to reject it. Even if we allowed a ROR where will they go to the rusty keys are all thats left of the villages themselves. Most have been used for construction, they have been given to the kibbutzim, are now part of JNF national parks . The famous Deir Yassin is now a mental institution in Jerusalem. There are no homes or villages to return to.
