The problems Israel faces when fighting Hezbollah on the ground is the result of the United Nations allowing hezbollah to prepare a network of tunnels, caves, and traps in the area where the IDF fights. This reminds me of the United States invasion of Iwo Jima in 1945. At that time, the Japanese had many years to prepare similar defenses as the IDF is finding in southern lebanon. Although there were many casualties, Iwo Jima was eventually captured by the United States. Because the United Nations did not follow up on it's resolution passed two years ago to disarm all militia including hezbollah, Israel should take the time to remove the threat of hezbollah -- all casualties on either side are the fault of the United Nations.
