blau's 2008 article does not in any way compare to the pantagon papers. blau's assertion is that the idf violated a high court order when it assassinated three islamic jihad commanders. however, neither the court order, nor the subsequent targeted assassinations, were as clear cut as blau would claim. the court's decision was that arrest of terrorists was to be attempted if possible. blau argues that the command had issued an assassination order in advance. however, it is not clear that an arrest of the three terrorists was possible. blau cannot substitute his judgment for that of commanders on the ground.
