as if the US Congress was not already beholden to the influence and power of the AIPAC lobby. Now we have this Prosdor dictating US foreign policy and demanding US Jewish organisations initiate a concerted effort to intimidate US Congress even further. His blatant attempt should be countered by Palestinian and pro-palestinian groups making very clear to the American electorate why Palestinian statehood is coming before the UN. It is only due to Israeli intransigence and their frantic attempts to make a contiguous, viable Palestinian state an impossibility, preventing it by illegal settlement and chnage in demographic realities. This is a course that bodes ill for Israel and its future. It may well be that the AIPAC money, power and intimidation and threats may work in strengthening the US veto but Palestiinian statehood is coming in Sept and if it does not lead to independent statehood it will be a giant steep in showing up the hypocracy of US foreign policy and shifting Israel completely into the camp of pariah states, increasingly isolated.
