You can spin it anyway you like, but that's the ultimate message of this week's fiasco. Yishai gave Biden a perfect opportunity to demonstrates US even-handedness. The announcement of the 1600 houses was an outrageous provocation and Biden could simply have demanded that Israel withdraw it and he could have endorsed a Pal refusal to start the talks until Israel did. It would have been so easy, but he did nothing of the sort. Instead, after a token protest, he gave in entirely to Yishai and Israel and demanded the PA do the same. He even stated after being humiliated that the US has no better friend than Israel! Some friend, and by thw way, in the UK, one of your oldest allies, an ally that actually does things you want, thanks for the insult. Any idea that now America will be "far more sympathetic to the Palestinians' positions" is fantasy. Biden sold America's soul to Israel this week.
