It is unreasonable for any of us to expect Sharon to actually begin disengagement from Gaza so long as there are still many dunums of Palestinian land left in the West Bank not yet occupied by settlers. You gotta give the guy credit; he's building as fast as he can. Even now there is no viable area that could constitute a Palestinian state, sliced up as the occupied territory is into bantustans cut off from each other, isolated by settler roads and apartheid walls. Arik has done a commendable job but those pesky Palestinian farmers just won't quit riding their donkeys around roadblocks to harvest the few trees that have survived the Caterkillers, finding back roads to transport their grandparents and pregnant women to hospitals rather than going with the flow and letting them die at Israeli checkpoints. It's really all the fault of the Palestinians. Israel has offered them nearly everthing they could possibly want. In their dreams!
