This government values settling the West Bank over all else. First came the preference list favoring illegal West Bank outposts over hard hit towns in the periphery; then the revelations of the approval of over 2000 new housing units over the Green Line on the eve of negotiations; now Bibi is willing to give up Horizons 2020, which promises to be a major economic engine for Israel generating cutting edge research, new technologies and jobs. Rejection of Horizons 2020 in favor of settlements is an own goal. It will lead to economic stagnation and a brain drain as our best and brightest young researchers, scientists and engineers will not be able to find work and will leave Israel for the US or Europe. Truer stupidity is difficult to find. My only hope is that the Israeli electorate will realize what a dead end the Right is leading us to and will kick the bums out come next elections. Well, one can dream.
