I have no idea where Bibi is attempting to drive Israel's car, what he sees as his long-term destination. What I do know is that the alliance of the cynical, desperate and extremists that constitutes his cabinet have locked his steering. He can only turn right. This, for a while, gives the impresion of motion, unfortunately after a while, people are beginning to notice that Bibi and Israel ain't going anywhere except round in circles, as relations with Pals, Jordan, Egypt, Turkey, US deteriorate and Iran advances with its nuclear programme. Even worse, because he can't steer anywhere but right, Bibi keeps on hitting things he should be avoiding. He's already totalled Abbas and Hillary and Obama have been forced to jump clear of the speeding Bibi-mobile, and neither will have enjoyed that.

Why we don't know how to pick our leaders

Our craving for ideology means that we are partial to ideological leaders. But we need leaders who will make smart decisions that are aligned with the public interest.
