He is not a statesman or a leader, but rather just a hack politician in love with the sound of his own voice and confidant that his words alone, delivered in that assumed gravitas he thinks is convincing, will stem the flow of criticism. What he has managed to achieve in this cadence as Prime Minister is to legitimise right wing political thuggery on a level unseen in this country before. He will seek to combine a soft appeal to that constituency whilst scrambling to produce policy proposals designed for short term quickly spin-able fix-its, but with another motive entirely - to stay in power for just another minute, hour, day. The question is are we be ready to get fooled again?
