The world wants no confrontation. The world wants to believe it can live in peace. But besides believing it must create conditions to allow it to happen. One of them is to eliminate poverty. Another is to eliminate threat to others. In his address to the General Assembly Benjamin Netanyahu, aka Bibi, suggested on how to proceed in the send case in this specific case of Iran. With the history of threats the Jews went through, I don't blame him. Even if to convince the world is going to be hard. The memories disturb. It's easy to forget. It is especially true when the harm happened to others. If the Africans cannot forget the slavery and the Armenians the genocide of 1915, the Jews cannot forget all the pogroms and the WW2 Shoa. Those who do not have to recall such extreme experiences are lucky. But it’s not the guarantee that it cannot happen to them in the future. Therefore it is mandatory to make sure that such experiences do not repeat. It is the responsibility of the United Nations to create effective conditions so they would not repeat. And it is the responsibility of all countries and all people to defend themselves against such threats. As said George Santayana, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” And I am pretty sure no one wants to repeat and relive those horrible experiences. The reason why it is so important to inhibit Iran to develop nuclear toward nuclear weapons while allowing it to profit from the peaceful use of nuclear energy.
