Speaking in southern Israel, the previous Israeli Ambassador to the U.S. says Obama won't be 'cop of the world,' unwilling tot use military force.00:19 29.11.15 | 0 comments
Just as the zealous and hasty Israel-critics here on Haaretz talkback (#1, #2, #3, #5) show us that bias and ill-concealed rancour don't offer any prospects of success and reconciliation, so also the left U.S. administration which has taken since the first moment pro-Palestinian positions had later to withdraw from them due a lack of pragmatic realism. They don't understand yet that the real obstacle to peace is rooted in the Palestinian society and way of thinking which, in its hostility against Israel, isn't ready for a comprehensive peace. This attitude must change before claiming other unilateral concessions from the Jewish state. The Israel-critics above as the Obama administration should be aware of their responsibility while nourishing the Palestinian delusions of a too high excessive stake to gain: with this one-sided attitude they will only worsen the situation and jeopardize possible further progresses, especially for their fellow Palestinians.
