Violence is never justified. Israel, though, shoulders a greater proportion of the guilt. By virtue that it is acting from a position of strength, (i.e. it is strong politically, economically and militarily), we must hold Israel to higher standards and expect it to respond to the terrorist attacks more reasonably; extending a generous hand to the people of Gaza, empower its people to divest their support from Hamas. This is premised on the argument that the frustration of the people in Gaza is justified. The way this translates into violent acts isn't. If Israel continues to bomb Gaza, then all its doing is shooting itself in the foot; by eliciting more animosity not only from the people of Gaza, but from other Arab nations.
