Many contractor of the US Army believe if they ask high prices they simply behave in a patriotic way because 'government spending stimulates economy'. 116 million dollar for a single aircraft is the result. The counter example is Russia. Nobody believes in there that inflating weapon prices is patriotic. Weapons are to be used and replaced, so they have to be cheap first. Anyway, stealth technology looks like the mediaeval heavy shields to me. Impressive and expensive but fundamentally useless thing. It is just a question of time before somebody invents an 116 dollar sling to shot down an 116 million dollar fantasy.
