A bit after the establishment of Maale Adumim, Peace Now claimed that the town was 86.4 % built on privately owned Palestinian land. This was supposedly based on leaked data from a secret Israeli government report. After getting the Israeli Supreme Court to order the government report released publicly, Peace Now revised the figure to 0.5 % - yes 0.5 %, not a typo. From aerial photographs B'tzelem has determined that 21 % of settlements are built on private land. I was unaware that aerial photographs have replaced the tabu. Or is this another spin like the Peace Now claim ? BTW, Peace Now made a big splash at the time with the 86.4 % figure but very very quietly admitted it's error. Most people are totally unaware of their change in the figure. Another instance of Pallywood ? This time by so called believable ngos ?
