I read Ben's link to wikipedia about liberty ships and also wikipedia's article called the "US Liberty incident" which describes the attack on the ship. I don't know what to conclude after this. The problem seems to be, Ron, a matter of motive. What possible motive could Israel have had to attack an American ship? And with such a deadly attack? The article says that the incident was never investigated by congress and Israel paid compensation money to America. The ship was in international waters, as well. I've been trying to find out if America and Israel were allies at the time this happened. Ben, you think some other country had bought this ship and was using an American flag?
