I think both Olmert and Hamas will in short order lay the groundwork for continued role as governing parties for years to come.Hamas will no doubt provide good govt and social services while holding a "proud nationalist line" all this will gel palestinian opnion around them for years to come.Olmerts withdrawls which include moving 70000 people back to Israel will soon gel as the consensus postion amoungst most Israelis, further withdrawls from the "Olmert lines" will never pass.Israel and palestine will inhabit parallel universes where the their govts concentrate alot on improving the domestic situation in spite of continuing hostility between the parties. Both will inhabit a universe of unilateral moves with no real contact.Maybe its better that way, contact only leads to problems.Maybe its better for both to "cocoon" and gestate for 3-5 years. In any case,Hamas is here to stay and Olmerts withdrawls will be the last.
