"By weakening Iraq under a policy of sanctions, Iran grew relatively stronger and unchecked. That was Bill Clinton`s mistake. Clinton had little understanding of world affairs. What should have been done was to force Saddam (under bigger threat) to give up his WMD`s, than use Saddam as our dog in that neighborhood." - Ben Gurion The policy towards Iraq was established by G.H.W. Bush and his national security advisor Brent Scowcroft. I tend to blame Saddam. Instead of simply complying with inspections, he played games. He actually had destroyed his weapons (what UNSCOM didn't), but it seemed he was trying to leave some doubt in peoples minds as to whether he had or not. Saddam had a talent for being a dictator, but not much sense about international affairs or war. Dubbya will not clean up his mess. He is not that kind of guy. Ask Rick Perry.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Berlin, February 16, 2016.

If Merkel also criticizes Israel, life is not a piece of cremeschnitte

The Israeli reaction to Der Spiegel's report on the German chancellor's frustration with Netanyahu was ridiculous, even Orwellian; as if Israelis were aliens who had just landed from another planet.

Boycott is the only way to stop the Israeli occupation

Aluf Benn's proposal for Israel's left to establish a base of domestic support for its positions is hopeless considering the brainwashing and increasing extremism of our society.
