Howdy Ben; If Israel cuts a deal with Abbas, why should the Palestinian militant groups honor the agreement? It is pointless to sign an agreement if one party (Israel) will enforce it with respect to her citizens, but the other party (the Palestinians) will not. This has been the problem with the Palestinians since 1947. There is no central politcal authority that all Palestinians will obey. It's like trying to herd cats. Well of course, President Bush said that the final borders must be bilaterally agreed to because that is the only way that they will be internationally recognized. However, the path of the security barrier in the West Bank will suffice as a de facto border until the Palestinians can get their excrement together and drop some of their more outrageous demands.
