Number 55 reminds me of the argument by Viennese Jews in 1938 , If not for the Ostjuden there would no antisemitism. Today's Jewish inhabitants in belarussia don't wear straimels and are not orthodox. Probably many are intermarried with nonw-Jews and Jewish life is very superficial. Antisemitism is ingrained in Ukrainia and entire Eastern-Europe. Many of us including myself choose to come to the U.S. not because the streets are covered with gold but to be far away from European antisemitism. I for one could had easier in Vienna because I was in concentration camp. Hamas does not target Mea Shearim Jews exclusively their target are Jews period. The sooner we learn that better for us. I thought Treblinka and Auschwitz were the teacher but unfortunately I am wrong.
